About Me

I’m Mayra (She/Ella), a bilingual Latina Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in San Diego, California. I’m a first-and-a-half-generation daughter of immigrants, born and raised in Southern California, where my Mexican roots have deeply shaped who I am—especially growing up in a vibrant border city like San Diego.

I help adults break generational cycles, build healthier connections, and move toward lives that feel more aligned and fulfilling. My approach is grounded in culturally affirming and anti-oppressive practices, and I strive to honor each person’s unique story. I’m here to support you in recognizing patterns that no longer serve you, reconnecting with your inner strengths, and moving through your healing journey at a pace that feels right for you.

Therapy can feel intimidating at first, which is why I aim to create a warm, non-judgmental space where you feel heard, supported, and empowered. Outside of the therapy room, you can usually find me catching a beach sunset with my dogs, exploring local hiking trails, camping, traveling, or discovering new coffee and matcha spots. And yes—I enjoy a good reality TV series from time to time.

I earned my Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy with the Latine Community from Pepperdine University. I also hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in both Psychology and Chicana/o/x Studies from California State University, Northridge. My formal training is rooted in post-modern approaches to therapy, which emphasize holistic ways of navigating life’s challenges—such as storytelling, somatic work, and collective healing practices within the therapy space.
